Greta Feeney is a treasure. A guru with remarkable musical gifts, she also has the heart to share them with actors like me—folks who need a great coach to help us open up and really sing.

Through studying with her personally and observing her work with other students, I have experienced
first-hand the depth of her knowledge and the effectiveness of her pedagogical practices. Dr. Feeney is an
effective communicator, and she knows how to meet students where they are, taking complex theories and
break them down into clear practical action points.

I have worked with Greta for nearly a decade. She is a fantastic teacher with people of all ages. Not only have I learned proper vocal technique from her, but she has taught me so much about the physiology of singing and how everything works together to make sound, as well as ways to keep my voice healthy. She is a wonderful and supportive teacher, and a truly kind person to work with.

Dr. Feeney holds degrees from the Mannes College of Music (BM), Brooklyn College Conservatory of Music (MM), and the State University of New York at Stony Brook (DMA). Her doctoral research explored the development of Russian recitative and the influence of Marian cults in the operas and oratorios of Giuseppe Verdi. Her extensive academic experience includes faculty positions at the Brooklyn-Queens Conservatory of Music, Bergen College, and the University of California, Santa Cruz. She currently serves as Faculty Chair of the Voice Department at Powers Music School and the Concord Conservatory of Music in Massachusetts, where she has developed and directed innovative programs such as the Honors Girls' Chorus and Singing with Parkinson's, which focuses on voice science techniques used in voice habilitation.

A member of the American Guild of Musical Artists (AGMA) and the National Association of Teachers of Singing (NATS), Dr. Feeney has been recognized by the American Guild of Community Arts Organizations for her contributions to music education. She has mentored students from diverse backgrounds, worked to create accessible and meaningful learning opportunities, and advocated for interdisciplinary exploration that blends music, theater, and community engagement. She founded the Open Voices Youth Chorus with a focus on youth arts activism at the Nantucket Music Center, and has directed innovative projects that connect performance with scholarship, including her role as Director of Music Ministries at St. Mary Our Lady of the Isle, where she prepares and performs sacred music spanning from the ancient to the contemporary for liturgical services attended by the sitting President of the United States.
