Greta Feeney is a visionary director whose work spans music, theater, and interdisciplinary performance art. Her directing credits showcase her innovative approach to storytelling and her dedication to exploring bold and meaningful themes.

Ms. Feeney’s notable achievements include Fluxus: A Retrospective, a performance art series inspired by the original Fluxus Manifesto, which she developed in collaboration with Nantucket Island Arts and Music and Subtext: Cut-Piece, a reinterpretation of Yoko Ono’s one-woman show produced for the Nantucket Arts Council, as well as Philip Glass Buys a Loaf of Bread, a Dadaist theatrical piece presented by Theatre Workshop Nantucket.

Her passion for reimagining classic works led to her direction of Hansel and Gretel at UCSC Opera Theatre, where she debuted her own colloquial translation of the original German libretto. She also directed scenes from Mozart’s Le Nozze di Figaro with The Juilliard Opera Theatre, demonstrating her ability to bring both precision and creativity to canonical works.

Most recently, Ms. Feeney directed a groundbreaking 2024 staging of the American premiere of Normand Forget’s arrangement of Winterreise (A Winter’s Journey) scored for tenor, accordion, and woodwind quintet, in collaboration with The Rossini Club at The Dreamland Center for the Arts.

As a director, Ms. Feeney has been guided and inspired by distinguished mentors, including José Maria Condemi, Lotfi Mansouri, Roy Rallo, Frank Corsaro, and Francesca Zambello of the Washington National Opera. These formative relationships have shaped her unique artistic vision and deepened her commitment to excellence in both music and theater.
